Equality Statement
Under the public sector equality duty (PSED), all schools must have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, harassment victimisation, and any other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act 2010; to advance equality of opportunity between those who share a relevant protected characteristic and those who do not share it and to foster good relations across all protected characteristics. This means schools must take into account equality considerations when policies are being developed, adopted, and implemented. We regularly review all our policies and procedures to ensure compliance with education and employment legislation including the Equality Act 2010.
St. Kentigern's is proud to be a fully inclusive school, where everyone is welcome and encouraged to be the best they can be. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity for all our pupils, parents, and staff. We make sure that we consider equality and the possible implications for all pupils, especially those with protected characteristics. We expect all members of our community and everyone who enters our school to behave in a way that respects the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010.
